Book Covering Tips
Books With Jackets
Our bestselling jacket cover is Trimsleeve which has a white paper liner for maximum protection and easy fitting. For valuable books Brodart's Just-A-Fold III is a good option as it is acid free and archival safe. Both these covers are very easy to apply and only require one fold when fitting.
A more economical solution is a plain plastic covering such as Clearcover. This product is very popular with bookshops and booksellers. Archival Jacket Cover is a glass clear film which is highly effective for protecting the jackets of fragile and valuable volumes.
Paperbacks
Adjustable Paperback Covers are an unbeatable product for covering delicate softback books. They simply slip over the covers of the book and can be removed and reused on another volume. These are especially popular with schools and libraries.
Filmfix is an all purpose, clear self adhesive covering for both softbacks and hardbacks. It is great for school text book and exercise books. We have just introduced Croc Cover which is a heavy duty clear covering which effectively turns a paperback into a hardback. Very useful for volumes that are subjected to alot of wear and tear.
Books Without Jackets
Our main product for this application is Easyfold Book Film. Available in two thicknesses, it is cut to the height of the book and can be folder round the covers like a dustwrapper. Adjustable paperback covers can also be used on hardbacks. Just add 4mm to the measurement to account for the thicker board.
